Small Exquisite Boutique Hotel In Central Bangkok

Our gem of a small boutique style hotel is the first of its kind in Bangkok. Attention to detail and style ensure that this property stands out from the crowd.

There are only 20 rooms, 5 on each floor, which are all furnished in the most exquisite style. Each of the deluxe guest rooms has the benefit of secure key card entry, individually controlled air conditioning, telephone, wi-fi internet connection, satellite TV, DVD player, mini bar, personal safe and hair dryer.

17 of our bedrooms feature king size beds - 1.8m wide by 2m long; 3 of our rooms offer the flexibility of twin beds. Our light and airy bathrooms have both a bathtub and power shower.

On the ground floor there is an internet corner along with the hotel reception. We have an all day cafe serving a combination of delicious and inexpensive Thai and western delicacies. Also on the ground floor is our wonderful pool area which features an in-pool Jacuzzi - perfect for soothing away the stresses of the day.

There is wi-fi internet connection throughout the hotel as well as the guest bedrooms. A comprehensive CCTV system is in operation at the hotel and for the convenience of our guests there is an elevator to all floors. Free car parking is also available right outside the hotel entrance terrace.

The hotel is centrally located on Sukhumvit Soi 18 in a small courtyard just 200 yards from the Sky Train/Underground stations of Asoke/Sukhumvit. The world class Emporium shopping mall is just a 5 minute walk up Sukhumvit Rd. The location just couldn't be better as all the areas of central Bangkok are easily accessible from the nearby Sky Train and Underground systems. Sukhumvit Rd is the shopping and entertainment heart of Bangkok. There are hundreds of great restaurants and shops, all within easy walking distance of the hotel. You will never be bored in Bangkok; there is always something to do. The world class shopping malls of Emporium, Central Chitlom, Central World, Gaysorn Plaza, Siam Paragon and MBK centre are all within a 10 minute ride on the Sky Train.

"Darjelling hotel is located in a quiet road, just off Sukhumvit Soi 18. Ask the taxi driver to take the first right after entering Soi 18. This means that you hardly get any traffic noise, and you're not harassed by tuk-tuk or taxi drivers as you exit the hotel. It is a 5 minute walk to Asok BTS station and a 10 minute walk to Sukhumvit MRT, via a covered walkway through the Exchange Tower, which is just next door. There are only 20 rooms in the hotel, 4 rooms on each floor. Thankfully there is a lift. The room is small, but all the fixtures are modern and new. When we checked in, the room was spotless. There is a bar fridge and a flat-screen TV with cable channels. However, there is no kettle provided, which for a tea-drinker like me, is rather inconvenient for a late-night cuppa. The bathroom is well appointed, with a bath with attached shower head, and it has a rather interesting window that looks into the bedroom, so the bathroom looks bigger than it really is. The only thing that we disliked was the rather noisy air-conditioning. We also found some ants in the room, although they did not bother us. The best part of the Darjelling hotel is the price. I paid about US$50 per night, including breakfast. Although the breakfast is nothing to shout about (eggs, sausages, toast, coffee and juice), it is convenient. I have stayed in places like the Adelphi suites and Arnoma hotel, but I find that the Darjelling is the best value for money so far. It is also a non-smoking hotel, which is great for my hubby who's asthmatic. "
